Director’s notes

We’ve chosen a great version of the traditional pantomime ‘Cinderella’, written by Norman Robbins.

The storyline is uncluttered, the romantic interest strong, and above all, the comedy fast moving.   Like all pantomimes it should be played at a fairly rapid pace, and the faster the insults fly, the better!

We are looking for good comedic players who won’t be afraid of audience interaction and participation, and there will be plenty of opportunity to play an active role in shaping the script and the performance itself.  Of course we also need good  romantic lead roles, ideally with strong vocal skills (although the script can be flexible to accommodate change), some strong dancers to create dramatic dance numbers and good actors / vocalists for supporting parts.

We look forward to a fun rehearsal period and a fantastic show!
