Director's Introduction
'Much Ado About Nothing' is a fast-paced, sharp-minded comedy, that follows two pairs of lovers in a witty and suspenseful battle of the sexes. The fiery and maddeningly sceptical Beatrice and Benedick, are attracted to each other, though are dead-locked in a lively war of words, until their friends hatch a plot to unite them. The mutually devoted Hero and Claudio, however, fall prey to the evil Don Johns' malicious attempts to separate them. Near fatal complications ensue, but with the help of the good Friar Frances and the dim-witted constable Dogberry and his confederates, the lovers are ultimately united.
